“From employee number #0049 to #0196. I am back with 4 times the passion, 4 times the excitement, and 10 times the determination in terms of what I want to do with my (career) life – thanks to Tredence!”

Palash Siddamsettiwar, in a free wheeling interview with Neeharika on the new Degree, the Tredence tag, and all that’s in between!

So you left Tredence to pursue a higher degree in analytics, and now you are back. How was your stint at Tredence helpful in making the decision to pursue your higher education?

When I joined Tredence initially, I was unsure if analytics really was the field where I would want to spend the next 30-40 years of my life. This was partly because of the menial reputation an “analyst’s” work was associated with. But, as I learned, the right teacher can stimulate your interest, and Tredence was the best teacher I could have hoped for.

Within a year, I was able to not only decide that data science would be my long-term career path, but was also able to understand how much more I needed to learn before I could become a master in my domain.

Tredence helped me understand the impact that even the simplest of analytical techniques can have on the growth and sustenance of a business, and how much more there is to learn.

Take a walk down memory lane for us. Share some of your memories of Tredence India; before you left for the US.

My time at Tredence, India, is the most cherished. Through those countless brainstorming sessions and long nights trying to solve an impossible problem for our client, I discovered that “Solving Problems” and “Connecting the Dots” were more than just slogans.

Working in a team with high intellectual horsepower can be positively challenging. It builds resilience and a ‘’Never Say No’’ attitude. These aspects surely make Tredence a great place to work. Combine that with the countless late-night football sessions, Friday evening fun, the crazy outings, parties, and you have a great formula for the elusive “work-life balance’’.

Why Tredence, again?

I’ll be honest, it was a tough choice! Typically, you come to US looking for better pay, standard of living, and – more importantly – better work-life balance. The expectations don’t stop there; exposure to good work, scaling career growth and continuous learning get added up. But reality strikes; there are some trade-offs. Fortunately for me, Tredence provides me with just the right balance to tick things off my wish list.

Other aspects that worked well to seal the deal for me: Work is always challenging, as we are constantly trying to punch above our weight. There is always plenty of room to learn and grow, even for a fresher.

And how do you see your Masters’ Degree in Business Analytics helping Tredence and yourself?

This degree has helped me understand the depths of data science, and how much more there is to explore. Problem solving is not a set process, and there are a thousand different ways to connect the dots. Data science helps you find the right way. We as a company are exploring the geographies of problem solving.

Your aspirations with your second inning

I aspire to keep learning something new every day, and help us grow at the same great pace that we’ve experienced. Working as an associate, I’ve been tested hard on my communication skills, and I hope to strengthen them to become a well-rounded professional.
